New Jury Member and Exhibition at the Singapore Eco Film Festival

We are delighted to announce that Ms Tulika Kapoor, Co-Founder and Programme and Partnership Director of the Singapore Eco Film Festival has joined our competition jury. This deepens the Create for Climate Singapore Youth Art Competition's relationship with the Singapore Eco Film Festival, leading up to the exhibition of shortlisted entries at the ArtScience Museum during the Festival in early November.

Calling Young Artists in Singapore: New Create for Climate Competition Wants to Hear from You!

Inspiration from Brazilian artist Thiago Mundano In accord with Singapore's Year of Climate Action , and building on the momentum of the recent Rise for Climate global actions, the Singapore Create for Climate youth art competition launches today. In this free-entry competition, Singaporean residents aged between 12 and 25 years are invited to create artworks using the symbols that have been adopted by a global community of climate artists: an “X” for what we need to put a stop to, and a Sun for the solutions we need. The results of the art competition, to be judged by a diverse panel of accomplished individuals from a broad spectrum of Singapore's cultural and sustainability sectors, will be presented via an online gallery and a public exhibition to coincide with The Singapore Eco Film Festival in early November. Earth Day Launch + Dissemination of Create for Climate Catalogue

Cover artwork by joint first place competition winner Carolyn Koh On Earth Day 2019, we took the opportunity to send out 80 physical copies of our Create for Climate art catalogue - a catalogue of works by young artists imagining a fossil-free future, alongside original articles by The Straits Times Environment Correspondent Audrey Tan , 350.org East Asia’s Regional Coordinator Liangyi Chang, Bernadette Maheandiran of investments watchdog Market Forces , strategist and curator Sarah Ichioka , Director of Desire Lines, and - from the rising generation - Aidan Mock, a student member Fossil Free Yale-NUS College . Q: Just wanted to check if foreigners who are living in Singapore are allowed to participate as well, or is this just for Singaporeans/PR? A: Happy to clarify: anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 whose primary residence is in Singapore is eligible to enter, regardless of their nationality. Q: Are students turning 12 this year (but whose birthdays have yet to pass) allowed to participate? A: For the sake of fairness and clarity, entries will be open to those whose actual ages match the entry criteria: being 12 to 25 years old as of the 15 October submission deadline.
